If you are having a difficult day…

Have you ever woken up feeling dreary, blue, or meh, not necessarily knowing the reason why? Maybe it is because of a bad dream that reminded you of your past. Maybe you had so many things that felt overwhelming to your waking state of mind. Maybe there was something you did’t feel like doing that was a responsibility of yours to follow through with. Whatever reason it was, we all have experienced moments like this, and you are not alone.

There are plenty of ways to travel though this feeling without letting it get the best of you and your day ahead. Through observing all of my clients through the years, it is apparent we do not like to be in a space that feels uncomfortable, whether it be in our body or mind. Feeling low, upset, or meh is not a state of being that feels healthy or happy to the body.

It is in our human nature to want to escape these moments and not take in the message these feelings present. Because humans so heavily dislike the feeling of discomfort, people have a tendency to skip the emotional message that the initial feeling of a lower state, is there to share.

How to translate the message of what our feeling is trying to relay to us, is an interesting task at hand. The negative feeling exists for a reason and they want to share something with you. How to understand the message is one of the ways we begin to acknowledge the feeling(s) and how we can move forward with our day.

1. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF FEELING

Once you establish you have an unwanted sense of being, feeling, or state, begin to notice how you react to this emotion.

~What is it? Identify and label it (Ex: I am feeling upset right now and a bit sad”). ~Where do you feel this in your body? (Ex: “I feel it in my head and heart”).

~What color would it be if you were to guess? (Ex: “It is red and light orange”).

~If it were trying to tell me something, what might it say? (Ex: “I am sad because I miss that time in my life”).

2. INTERPRET WHAT THE FEELING IS TRYING TO SHARE WITH YOU

Besides identifying what the emotion is and where it is located in your body, begin to explore the reason it’s there.

~What does the emotion remind you of, on your first guess?

~Is it something you can interpret clearly, or is it a dull feeling that is present?

~Have you felt this before, or is it new?

~If you were to take a guess, is the feeling present because you miss someone or something, you are sad about something, you are angry about something, you are overwhelmed, etc?

3. AFTER INTERPRETATION, CREATE NEW STATE OF BEING

After completing all these questions and steps, you have thoroughly acknowledge and sorted through your primary emotion(s). It is now time to change the frequency.

~How would you like to feel instead?

~What type of sensation would you like to experience in your body? (Light feelings, airy, tingles, cloud like, flowy, forward movement, etc.)

~What color would you instead like to see in the area that felt the negative emotion or feeling?

~How would your face feel? (Smiling, natural emotion, etc.)

~How would your body stand or sit? (Tune into posture you would like to have.)

4. HIGHER VIBRATIONAL FREQUENCY

Once you have interpreted the initial feeling you experienced, you now have more information to change it to the way you wish to feel, rather than the way you previously felt.

In order to radiate this new energy you have created out into your day, begin by being mindful of your new state of being. Allow yourself to be present with activities such as how you brush your teeth, take a shower, or get dressed and ready. If you have a challenging time feeling like a bed of roses on a sunny day, it is okay to gently bring a smile to your face as you notice yourself in the mirror or as you choose an outfit you like. It is okay to allow a smile to appear even if you feel it is not fully how you feel –just yet.

Creating intentional feelings of happiness or moments of positivity help curate a higher vibrational state of being, in turn, allowing your heart, cells in your body, and state of mind/being, to graciously feel mini moments of gratitude for you. For your morning. For your day ahead. For your life. For your purpose.

What can originally begin as a blue, dreary, or meh moment in our day, can turn into a deep felt sense of gratitude by changing only a few things.

IF, however, you still feel a bit low, please know that it is okay too. It is okay to have a day when you do everything in your power to change the way you feel, but yet it doesn’t seem to work. You are allowed to have days, when you don’t feel up to smiling at the world or don’t have enough energy to complete the task you so desperately need to do. All of us have moments like this.

What I would suggest if you are not able to release this original negative feeling, is this…

Still go through the steps to begin to understand it more. Why it is/was there. Ask it what it needs to feel better that is realistic. And allow yourself to bring compassion to your state of being. Maybe, just maybe, tomorrow will feel a bit better.

You are the creator of your every day life. It is you, and only you, who has the power to choose how you want your day to be. Bring gratitude into your world on bad days. Bring love into your heart center and mind at all times. And graciously appreciate the divine beautiful being you are.

I honor you. I salute you. I respect you.

Namaste.
