Mini Mindful Meditation Moment : Creativity & Awareness

Hello and Welcome. Whatever it is you are doing now, right at this moment, I invite you to pause, for a brief mini mindful meditation moment. If you are holding your phone, place it where you can still read it, yet it can stand on its own. If you are on a computer or tablet, lift your hands off the mouse or keyboard…

“Hold your hands in front of your body, palms facing you. Begin to notice every detail. Any caluses, lines, colors, or shapes in your hands. As you notice each intricate detail, imagine how uniquely special you are. YOU are the only one who has these hands. These hands who do so much for you and who help you create your everyday life.

As you’re studying your hands, I welcome you to take a deep breath in through your nose (while noticing the air is a bit cooler here) and out through your nose, exhaling (noticing the air may feel a bit warmer). As you begin to focus on your breath ever so gently, you notice your hands begin to look soft and feel light. You may lower your hands at this time now to a comfortable position. As you begin to breathe, you notice your heart expanding gently, and you may begin to feel your shoulders relax.

Take one more moment here, focusing on your in and out breath. Breathing in. Breathing out. In. And out. Perhaps you would like to take with you into your day ahead, a loving intention for yourself. A positive and kind thought to stand by your side and dance around in your mind for the duration of the day. Take a moment here to let this idea or mantra come to you…

Now that you have your intention, take another deep inhale this time, filling your lungs with as much clean and pure air as your body allows. Exhale now through your mouth, allowing yourself to release any tension stored in your hands or in your heart, into the air…to take, purify, and cleanse from your body and mind.

You begin to come back into your body now, ever so slowly, wiggling your fingers and your toes, fully present, awake, feeling alert and refreshed to carry on with your day.”

Mini mindful meditation moments are extremely beneficial to our mind, body, and spirit. They provide us a space to remind us how important we are. How lucky we are to be alive and witness the small and quiet moments of life. Whether you begin to notice yourself in different ways, or your external surroundings..being present in whatever it is you are doing, creates an internal sense of awareness and observation. Little by little, with small amounts of practice, you will begin to notice how this short and sweet practice begins to shift your life. I lovingly invite you to try to experiment with it yourself. Enjoy!
